Red Bull Casio F1 Game
While working at Red Bull, I worked with team partner Casio and external agency Exposure to create a viral F1 themed Facebook game. Casio wanted to promote their newly released, Red Bull themed Edifice watch. The game let fans become Formula One race engineers as they were challenged to optimise the set-up of a Formula One car to make it ready for the changing conditions on Race Day. The weather simulation was based on realtime weather at the Suzuka race circuit and so every visit was different requiring the car’s set up to be adapted to handle the changing race conditions to give an insight into what it’s like being a Formula One race engineer. The game let players invite friends to join the challenge and created league tables of the fastest times. Each week, the driver who recorded the fastest lap won a Casio Edifice watch, with the final winner receiving a trip for two to attend the Japanese Grand Prix. I had input on design, user experience and worked extensively with race engineer, Andrew Damerum to make sure the simulations were accurate. Casio UK called it a resounding success. It was a very fun and unique project to be a part of.
